John William Jones Son of John and Elizabeth Jones Killed at New Herrington pit Sept 2nd 1889 aged 12 years

William son of George and Christina Wilson Died through injuries at Dorothea Colliery Sept 19th 1909 aged 16 years An inquest was held on William, the coroner Mr. Cadle heard evidence from John Kelly the overman, who stated that he had seen the deceased following his employment as a run rider - riding between two tubs. George Cathcart said he was waiting for the set at the landing and when it arrived, he heard someone moaning, on examination he found the unfortunate youth lying doubled up in the tub, he went off for some assistance and had the boy sent home. Mr. A Todd and Mr. P Lewson the men's local inspectors give their opinion that the deceased had not been able to get off the set before it reached the lowest part of the seam, William had attempted to get into the tub with fatal results. A verdict of death from "shock after a accident" was recorded
